Chatscape is a browser extension that draws animated wallpapers behind the chat on claude.ai. It is built so that nothing about you or your conversations leaves your browser.
What Chatscape collects
Nothing. Chatscape has no servers, sends no network requests, and contains no analytics, tracking or remote code.
What it stores, and where
Your settings only: the chosen scene, the Dim, Glass and Speed values, and whether Chatscape is on. They are saved with chrome.storage.sync, so your browser may sync them across your own signed-in Chrome profiles. Chatscape never sees or transmits them anywhere else.
What it reads on the page
- Computed background colours and sizes of page elements, to make the right panels see-through. It does not read their text.
- The text in the message box only at the moment you press Enter, and only to check whether it is exactly
/theme. Nothing is stored or sent.
